Illustration of hands balancing a bunch of tasks, time, tools, etc...

In technology, you can never write too little code. It’s good to try new things and/or keep old skills sharp. So, as we enter another holiday season, I present to you my gift of code to the world!

Here’s a rough outline of what I’d like to accomplish by the end of this year:

  1. The To Do List – A simple application that will demonstrate best practices in a variety of activities…
    • The Slim Framework
    • RESTful API
    • RDBMS
    • PHPDoc
    • Testing with PHPUnit
    • Automated Builds with Phing
    • Continuous Deployment / Continuous Integration
    • Docker
  2. LittleGood.org (plus #TYKS)
    • A great excuse for me to put a little good in the world
    • Drupal
  3. A Yelp like application built with the MEAN stack
    • MongoDB
    • Express
    • AngularJS
    • Node
  4. Workout Tracker – The project I have been dying to get off the ground so I can use it at the gym! More robust than the To Do List.
    • Laravel
    • NoSQL
    • Droid
    • OO design patterns
    • Possibly iOS
  5. Quirkle – An online version of the addictive board game. Also, an excuse to flex my front-end skills.
    • Javascript framework TBD
    • Backend technologies TBD
    • OO design patterns
  6. Droid or iOS versions of each project
  7. Contribute to an open source project like The Slim Framework, joind.in, or phergie.

Can’t wait to get started!
